  Deparment Of Tourism

Palawan with its 1700 islands is known as the last ecological frontier of the Philippines, a distinction bestowed upon the province because of its unique ecological balance that has been preserved in the midst of rapid changes and economic growth. Palawan has 2 UNESCO world heritage sites: the coral rich Tubbataha reefs and Sabang National Park (Which is said to be the longest underground river in the world). The Filipino people are known for their warm, friendly and hospitable nature – with English being widely spoken.

The capital of Palawan is Puerto Princesa which has many hotels and guest houses, banks, bars, restaurants. It has money exchange shops and an immigration office, where you can extend your visa to 59 days in which the process takes about an hour.

Secret Paradise Retreat is in a private, protected cove. 3 beaches totalling an area of 24 hectares (58 acres) form our cove. We have a coast-line frontage of almost 3 km long . Beach 1 being over 382 meters long, beach 2 being 211 meters long, beach 3 being 116 meters long. Our closest neighbours are 30 minutes walk away over the hills. We have one of the largest unspoilt beautiful secluded coves in Palawan, surrounded on the North, East and South by tropical forest, and to the West open sea (where we see spectacular sunsets).

We are situated between Sabang and Port Barton, and next to Cacnipa Island (Access by boat only). San Vicente is only 1 hour away where the new airport is being built.

The accommodation consists of 3 beautiful retreat cottages on beach 2 with a distance of 25 metres apart for total privacy. On beach 1 we have a superior room with a private balcony and also a dormitory room, both are based at the top of our restaurant with beautiful ocean views. Also 2 standard rooms.

Unlike most beach resorts which are open to the elements of high waves and strong winds, we are one of the few beaches that are protected from the elements due to the coves position and the tropical forest on 3 sides. As the photos show, the sea within the cove is still and calm making this ideal for swimming and good visibility for snorkelling. You can also hire our clear bottom sea kayak to explore the many other beaches and coves.
